Hello!
My name is Sydney and I’m a 24-year-old Artist from Central Pennsylvania, USA.
I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember, and have been studying art seriously since the age of 13. My passion medium and first love is Watercolor, but I also enjoy working with other mediums like Oils, Gouache, Graphite, and Digital. While I paint an array of subjects from plein air landscapes to portraits, I especially enjoy painting animals and particularly portraits of people’s pets. Capturing an animal’s soul and essence brings me a lot of joy, especially when I get to see the smile on the owner’s or family member’s face.
A more recent interest of mine is learning about natural dyes, inks, and pigments and re-focusing my work to be more place-based and environmentally conscious. If you’re curious about some of these things, check out my Instagram @syd.tart to see what I have been up to.
